LISTEN – LISTEN - LOVE - LOVE

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

I hope and pray that all had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Time flies when we are having fun. The first meeting for Hughes 12 is upon us. It will be next Saturday, December 7, 2002, 9:00 AM to ~3:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church 2600 East Main St. – Gatesville, Tx.

Directions to FUMC – Gatesville: From the intersection of Hwy. 36 and Hwy. 84, go West on Hwy. 84 to the first traffic light and look at the Church on your left. The meeting will be in the Gym at the rear (South side) of the Church.

Please make every effort to attend as it is very important to participate in as many Team Meetings as possible to achieve Team bonding and have a strong Team.

IMPORTANT: Please let me know if you plan to attend for two reasons. I need to know how many I’ve invited, that plan to serve on the Team and also so the ladies know how much lunch to prepare. Home cooked Mexican food lunch will be provided by the wonderful ladies of the El Buen Pastor UMC in Moody. A $5.00 (or more) donation for each lunch will go toward UMW’s mission work.

The morning session’s theme will be "Vulnerability" and the scripture verse will be: John 13: 34-35 "I give you a new commandment…" The afternoon session’s theme will be "Servant hood of Listening" and the scripture verse will be: Matthew 20: 26-28 "If one of you wants to be great…" Please write these verses on a three by five card or something similar and be meditating on them. We will discuss what each verse means to you at the meeting. The purpose of these scriptures is to provide a window through which each team member might observe a personal journey with Christ during a particular week as the team is being molded into Christ’s body.

Please complete the paperwork I sent you (the application or database sheet) and give to me at the team meeting. Even if there are no changes necessary, to the database, this is my means of tracking your intent to serve as well as helping determine job assignments. Also, please remember to get those TDCJ Training forms (where applicable) sent in to Huntsville. Under the new audit system: If you ain’t in the computer (as "Trained") – you ain’t going in.

As always, keep us (Team & Candidates) in your prayers. You are certainly in mine.

Your brother in Christ,

Ron McGill
