10/13/02
Good Morning, Kairos 11 Brothers & Sisters in Christ,
A group of us (about 18) went back to the Hughes Unit
this past Sunday, October 13, for the Instructional Reunion for Kairos 11 at
Hughes. For those who may not know, the Instructional Reunion is an all-day
event where team members give a series of short talks on the elements
included in the Kairos Grouping Card, used during Prayer and Share Meetings
held on Monday nights at Hughes. After each talk, the groups (each Kairos
11 table family will start out together as a Prayer and Share Group) had a
brief discussion on the talk and then shared one-on-one with each other
their own reaction, thoughts, feelings, and personal witness pertaining to
the talk. There were also a number of opportunities for both table families
and pairs to pray together and for each other.
Overall, it was a great day! All the candidates were there, and are all still on the Mountaintop, although they're aware they're gonna have to come down before too long. They all had an opportunity last night to go to their first actual Prayer and Share meeting. Paul Sequeiras, the current Inside Rector at Hughes, gave a closing talk at the Instructional about what to expect at Prayer and Share, and invited them all to attend last night. I wasn't able to go back last night, but my guess is that all who were able to attend were there! It's especially heartening to see many of the candidates who started out Thursday with a negative outlook, maybe angry and full of hate, now smiling, crying, laughing, and loving. It's also heartening to see all 42 candidates participating. All the groups seemed to have good discussions and good prayer time together. So, again thanks to all of you for your servant heart and your role in bringing Jesus Christ and the Kairos Community to our 42 new Brothers in Christ! Miracles are still happening! Your Brother in Christ, Dave |
