KAIROS PRISON MINISTRY JAMES MCFARLAND P.O. BOX 192 JOSHUA, TX 76058 817/558-7870 3-12-00
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Thank you for your support and commitment thus far. Our first two team meetings have been fantastic and a true spiritual encounter with Christ. As we continue our team formation in preparation for Hughes #6, our third team meeting will be Saturday, March 18, from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church in Waco, TX.
The theme of the morning team meeting is "Nature of our sinful love" Scripture: Mark 12:41-43; The widow's mite; and the theme of the afternoon teaming will be "Humility", Scripture: 1 Cor. 2:1-3; "I did not come with excellence...
Again we ask that you write these scriptures on a 3 X 5 index card, meditate on them the entire week prior to the team meeting, and bring it with you to the team meeting. The purpose of these scriptures is to provide a window through which each team member might observe a personal journey with Christ during that particular week as the team is being molded into Christ's body.
I also would like to remind you that the Hughes #6 team fee is $110.00 for each team member. This fee covers motel lodging for 4 nights and food. If you feel that you can not afford the team fee, don't let that deter you from being on the team. Just see me privately and a sponsorship will be arranged.
We will critique talks at this team meeting, so those of you that have talks please be prepared to give your talk. I continue to remind you to solicit scholarships and your allotment of cookies (75 dozen per team member). And don't forget to start writing your letters. Also, the deadline for closing applications is March 27th, so mail them this week or bring them to the team meeting.
As always, we ask that you bring drinks and snacks to the team meetings. Since this will be a full day of meetings, you may want to bring lunch or be prepared to go out. Also note the attach team assignments.
I ask that you keep me in your prayers as you will certainly be in mine.
In the Love of Christ, James McFarland |
