KAIROS PRISON MINISTRY James McFarland P.O. Box 192 Joshua, TX 76058 817/558-7870
February 13, 2000
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Greetings in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. Thank you for your support and commitment to this ministry. Our fist team meeting went very well. However, there were only 20 of us there. I must say, I was very concerned and then I reminded myself of who was in charge and that through Jesus Christ, all things are accomplished. I trust that the team formation will continue and the team will grow as God calls us to be His servants.
Our next team meeting will be March 4th at the First United Methodist Church in Waco. There is a map and directions enclosed. The meeting will start at 9:00. The theme of the morning team meeting is "Servanthood of Listening". The scripture is Matthew 20:26-28, "If one of you wants to be great" The theme of the afternoon team meeting is "Nature of God's Love". The scripture is Hebrews 10:24-25, "Let us meet together".
I ask that you write these scriptures on a 3 X 5 index card, meditate on them the entire week prior to the team meeting, and bring it with you to the team meeting. The purpose of these scriptures is to provide a window through which each team member might observe a personal journey with Christ during that particular week as the team is being molded into Christ's body.
I also would like to remind you that the Hughes #6 team fee is $110.00 for each team member. This fee covers motel lodging for 4 nights and food. If you feel that you can not afford the team fee, don't let that deter you from being on the team. Just see me privately and a sponsorship will be arranged.
We will make team assignments at this team meeting. As always, we ask that you bring drinks and snacks to the team meetings. Since this will be a full day meeting, you may want to bring lunch or be prepared to go out. We will discuss at this meeting the arrangements for future meeting's lunches.
I ask that you keep me in your prayers as you will certainly be in mine. With the love of Christ, James McFarland |
